Bathroom Makeover and 10 Tips to Make Your Bathroom Guest Ready #CGC #CleanHands #spon

Today I’m excited to share some things that we did to makeover our bathroom, along with some tips to make your own bathroom guest ready!

Our house is older, so when we moved in one of the first things that needed to be done was a bathroom makeover.  Check out these before and after pictures:

As you can see, we removed the dark old wall paper and painted the walls white.  A new light fixture was also added, which really modernized the room and has made it so much brighter.  A new tiled floor was also put down.

The green tiled wall does remain, but I’ve tried to embrace it by adding a very pretty coordinating shower curtain and accessories, along with some wall art.

And then we also did a BathFitter makeover to the tub and shower! Amazingly this done in day! What do you think?

Of course, you don’t have to go through an entire remodel to make your bathroom look great!. In fact, chances, you already have a great looking bathroom.  But here are just a few simple tips to get your bathroom guest ready.

1. Make a basket of toiletries, including soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, lotion, and medicines. (Even if you’re guest brings their own stuff, this will make them feel welcome. Plus, there’s a chance they might forget something!)

2.  Freshen up the bathroom using potpouri or scented oil plugins.

3.  If you dislike the look of your bathroom, update it with a new shower curtain, rugs, and towels.

4. If your guests will be using a bathroom you regularly use, remove any clutter and personal belongings.

5. Clean the bathroom before your guests arrive.  This is kind of obviously, I know a lot of people don’t use their guest bathroom and may not see a need to clean it.  However, dust can still collect in there. Plus you want the place to smell fresh when your guests arrive.

6.  Take an old Kleenex box and fill it with plastic grocery bags. Place it in your bathroom, so your guests will have bags to put dirty clothes in.

7.  Be sure to have different medicines on hand, including pain relievers, stomach medicine, cold medicine, and children’s medicine.

8. Hang a couple of robes in the bathroom and let your guest know they are there for their use.

9. If you guest has small children, have a couple of tub toys on hand.

10. Place a box of Kleenex Hand Towels in your bathroom. Everyone will have clean hands, and you won’t have dirty hand towels to wash!

  1. Love it! It all looks fabulous. Thanks for sharing at our Handmade Tuesdays party.

  2. It’s not a bathroom tip, but it’s lovely when you are a guest to have a chest of drawers or dresser to stash your clothes. We’re currently staying with family and the 3 of us are living outta the suitcase. Things are getting mixed and matched, wadded and lost. Drawers would be lovely to have!

I love the green tile wainscotting. Painting the walls white is fabulous. I am not a fan of the bathfitter. I have had success with regrouting bath surround tile and painting the bathtub.

  4. Great job, Jerri ! I am collecting ideas for both our bathrooms – love the bath with the corner unit, it looks lovely.
