Peet’s Coffee Single Cups (and My Cats!) #GiveACup

I’m very excited today to be partnering up with Peet’s Coffee for their Give a Cup Campaign.

Peet’s is currently launching their new Single Cups. Anyone who drinks Peet’s coffee knows how uncompromising they are when it comes to flavor, and they have taken 5 years create the perfect blend for their single cups, using more coffee than most, designing a specific dose for each blend, and using a different kind of filter than allows more flavor to pass into the cup.
To celebrate this journey, they are launching Give A Cup, the Internet’s very first social sampling experiment.
Here’s how it works. Each week you can go to doyougiveacup.com and vote on a topic. The topics are fun, current and sometimes a bit quirky.  (So far I’ve seen questions about Zombies and Hotdog Eating Contests.) Your votes determine where Peet’s Coffee will host their sampling events each week.
As another part of the campaign, bloggers like me are sharing what they “give a cup” about.  Of course, my immediate answer would have been family, particularly my man!  But he didn’t want me to write about him, and family really seems like to much of an obvious answer,  so I decided to go with the next best thing:  The Simply Sweet Home Cats!

Three Cats

If you’ve been reading a blog for a while, you know them, but just in case, they are (from left to right) Dixie Belle, Rebel, and Sugar Belle.  Rebel and Dixie are brother and sister. They just turned 5 about 3 of months ago, and I got them when they were just 2 months old.

Sugar Belle, on the other hand, was not a cat I planned to adopt.  She showed up at my dad’s house, and I took her to the vet to get her fixed. She recovered at my house, and I just never got around to sending her back, and now she’s been here for a year and a half. (Go ahead and laugh. Everyone does.)

And I do love them! Prior to getting Rebel and Dixie, I had cats and dogs, but I’d never had any inside animals.  One thing is for sure.  With these guys around, I am never bored.  One of my favorite things is seeing their reaction to something new, which could be anything from a new rug to a sock that got dropped on the floor.  And then I also love watching try to catch bugs on the outside of the window, or better yet, tree frogs, and not to mention, seeing their reaction to the birds, squirrels, and other animals in the yard.

But most of all, I just love it when they come over and sit beside me while I’m working or sleep on my feet.   I could go on, but you get the idea.  And that’s why I give a cup!
