We are so excited to share one of our family summer recipes with you today. My Husband gets all the credit for this recipe. He and I were going through a healthy meat phase a while ago and found a lot of different recipes for turkey burger. We didn’t really like any of them 100% so, John came up with his own recipe.

Turkey Burgers

Turkey Burgers

1 pound lean ground turkey

1/4 cup bread crumbs

1/4 cup chopped green pepper

2 green onions, chopped

1 egg, well beaten

3 tablespoons milk

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground pepper

3 tablespoons soy sauce

Orange Marmalade

In a blender mix green pepper, onion, egg, milk, salt, pepper, and soy sauce until smooth. Pour over bread crumbs. Let stand to soften. Mix pork and turkey, add crumb mixture. Mix well. Make into 6 – 3/4″ thick patties. In a non-stick frying pan (electric) heat and coat pan with 1 tablespoon olive oil.  Cook patties over medium heat until done. Brush with orange marmalade. Serve on whole wheat bun with tomato, lettuce and onion slice. YUM!

Note: You can grill them but they are very soft and have a tendency to stick and break into the flames.

Thank you for inviting us Jerri! We’ve enjoyed being here!
