Girl Scout Cookies

It’s that time of year again! Time to pull a few dollars out of your pocket and buy a box of Girl Scout Cookies (Or two or three or four! You know you want them!)

Every year I look forward to breaking in to boxes of Thin Mints, Tagalongs, and other cookies I select from the Girl Scouts.  Not only are they delicious, but it’s a great opportunity to help a fantastic organization that does good work in the community and helps to teach and promote good lessons, values, and character development to our children.

Every year the Girl Scout Cookie sale helps to raise money for the GSUSA’s programs, and the sale of the cookies helps to teach the girls about money, business, and talking to people.  In fact, the five cookies that are always on the cookie menu each year, symbolize the life skills that the sale promotes.  See the graphic below:

Personally I get a kick out of watching the Girl Scouts sell their product.  They are always so cute and enthusiastic.  A couple of years ago, I bought some cookies from a group of girls who had set up a booth outside our local grocery store.  I can still hear them chanting: “Girl Scout Cookies! Three-fifty bucks!”  They were adorable!
