Spring Cleaning with Essential8 and a Giveaway

Spring Cleaning with Essential8

I love using natural products for cleaning and bath & body.  I love natural cleaning products because they generally lack the strong, harsh smells that other chemical cleaners have, and they are safer to have around my family and pets. I’ve been doing a lot of spring cleaning projects the last couple of months, and I was excited to try out some products from essential8 to help out the process.

essential8 is a shop on Etsy.  They offer a variety of organic cleaning products, as well as products for bath & body, including sugar scrubs, lotion bars, and even bath products for baby and pets.

Here’s a short blurb about essential8 from the owner herself, Sarah:

“The name essential8 comes from a desire to keep things simple. The list of sustainable, healthy ingredients available on this earth is relatively short. The number “8” comes from a goal of using 8 ingredients or less. The word “essential” has two meanings. I only include ingredients in my products that are truly beneficial and necessary to make a product complete. Why throw in all the yucky stuff if it isn’t going to make the product any healthier? Also, I use only pure essential oils in formulating my recipes. You’ll never find an artificial fragrance of any kind in an essential8 product.

I began my business and my green journey several years ago when my children were babies. I became very concerned with the harmful ingredients in the personal care and cleaning products I was buying from the store. I began experimenting with making my own products until I found recipes that I was convinced worked as well as conventional products. I have slowly expanded my product line from organic cleaners to encompass a wide range of products including aromatherapy, baby and personal care items. I am committed to creating products that are free from parabens, artificial fragrance, dyes and sulfates.”

I received essential8’s Organic Three Cleaner Set.  It includes 3 cleaner concentrates of your choice.  I selected the bathroom, all-purpose, and wood cleaners.  The All Purpose and Wood Cleaners come in pouch that is enough for 64 oz. of cleaner, while the Bathroom Cleaner is enough for 32 oz.  These mix up easy with water, and each cleaner has easy to follow instructions and comes with spray bottles for your convenience.

I think the cleaners are a great value for the money, and I was pleased with the amount of product I got.  I also liked that the products came complete with a list of ingredients, so you are assured of the good quality and safe ingredients.  They also had pleasant scents to them and do a great job of cleaning up.

The wood cleaner is great because you can spray it on furniture or wood floors and wipe away with a dusting cloth, or you can dilute the cleaner in a bucket of water for easy mopping on your hardwood floor.  I also found the Bathroom Cleaner to helpful for a variety of tasks.  Not only was it great to use on the sink, toilet, and shower, but I also used it to wipe down my tile walls and floors.  I think my favorite of the three is the All Purpose Cleaner.  I use an All Purpose Cleaner a lot because I love the simplicity of having one product for all surfaces and jobs.

If you’re looking to stock up on some cleaning products for the spring cleaning season and are interested in swapping to natural cleaners, you should definitely consider the essential8 products.
