Holiday Party Time

Do you ever struggle to find unique recipes and foods for your holiday party?  Personally I love eating anything and everything around the holiday season, from mouthwatering, savory apps to turkey & dressing, but it can be quite easy to get tired of the “same ole menu” year after year.  Personally I love appetizers for our football parties and of course, New Year’s Eve, and although I have a lot of different teams I can make, every now and then I have to break out of the rut and try something new.  Today I’m sharing a fun idea that you can incorporate in to your holiday party, namely your appetizer parties, although the concept can easily be applied to a sit-down dinner party.  Last weekend I made an “Around the World Appetizer Buffet”  featuring appetizers inspired by other countries.  My buffet featured American, Italian, and Asian cusine.

Tai Pei Egg Rolls and Spring Rolls

I chose some easy, yet delicious menu options.  For the Asian portion of the buffet, I used Tai Pei Pork Egg Rolls and Spring Rolls.  I’ve purchased Tai Pei’s Asian entrees before, and I’ve bought the egg rolls to go along with the meal, but this was my first time to serve these as an appetizer alone.  (Now that I’ve tried it, I don’t know why I never thought of the idea before.)

Frozen Aisle at Walmart

You can find Tai Pei Egg Rolls and Spring Rolls in the frozen entree and frozen vegetable aisle, at your local Walmart.

Tai Pei Pork Egg Rolls

These are so delicious!  Each variety is made with hearty chicken, pork, or shrimp, as well as fresh cut vegetables, inside a crispy wrapper.  They also come with sauce packets for dipping, and they can be cooked up in a hurry, using your oven or microwave.

Tai Pei Mini Chicken Spring Rolls

Personally I love both products. My favorite is the spring rolls because I like the wrappers, but my husband prefers the egg rolls.  Either way, both of these are a great restaurant quality food, and I’d proudly serve them at my appetizer party.  And at my store, they were just $4.98 for each both, making it a good item for any budget.

And right now through December 31, there is an Ibotta Rebate on the product.

Egg Roll Platter

For the rest of the party table, I continued to center around easy and fast foods.

I made some Italian Meatballs (Just frozen meatballs with marinara sauce, cooked in the crock pot.  How easy is that?)

And then for the American-inspired, I have some Bacon Cheeseburger Finger Sandwiches.  As an alternative to sliders, I took actual full size cheese, cut them in to pieces and then secured them with toothpicks.  I like this idea, because if you’re like me, I can make a meal out of a couple of sliders, and so these smaller portions of a full hamburger are very buffet/finger food friendly.  (This is also a great idea, if you already have a couple of left over hamburger patties, hanging out in your fridge.)

Easy Appetizer Table

And then I also made Spicy Chicken Cups.  This is great app that can be prepared and baked in about 30 minutes.  (Here’s the recipe.)

And you can’t have a party without chips & dip!  Originally I had planned to have a Mexican-inspired dip or layered nachos,  but I just ran out of time (and fridge space), so instead I had some Spinach Dip & Chips.

Finally, there are a few glasses of festive, red fruit punch and a little bowl of Peppermint Kisses.
