Big Game SnackingIt’s hard to believe football season is almost over! But with one more game still to go, there’s still plenty of time for Big Game Snacking.  Last weekend we enjoyed a small football party with family and friends and an array of food, decorations and fun!

Easy Party Decorations

Finding party decor and activities is as easy and affordable as 1-2-3.  I used a great set of printables from Dazzle Expressions for the table decor.  And for kids, there are a lot of free printable activity pages like this Football Bingo Game from Pretty Providence.  My friend Ami of AliLily also has a great post of 42 Football Party Ideas which includes a great collection of party games and activity sheets, as well printable decorations.  And then I just got a simple green table cloth and few other party supplies from Walmart to decorate the table.  Easy peasy!

Cheez-It and Pringles

As for food, I make parties easy with a couple of savory appetizers or main course items.  Last week we had a pizza and some Chicken, Bacon, Ranch Subs.  But on other occasions, I’ve served chicken tenders, wings, meatballs, little sausages, cheese sticks, and other tasty appetizers.  And then apart from that, I MUST have at least kind of dip to serve.  And where there’s dip, there has to be something to eat with the dip.  Enter Cheez-Its and Pringles!

Our pantry is always stocked with various flavors of these tasty snacks.  Not only does our son love them, but so do my husband and I.  And both snacks are very affordable!

Cheez-It at Walmart

I usually find Cheez-Its in the cracker aisle, but right now select Walmart stores have a special pallet filled with several Cheez-It varieties, including new Cheez-It Grooves and Cheez-It Crunch’d.  I’ve been seeing the commercials for both products and have really been looking forward to trying them.  My store, unfortunately, doesn’t have the Crunch’d product in stock yet, but as soon as I see them, they will definitely be in my cart and in my pantry.  They feature a “Puffed-Up Crunch with Real Cheese” and are available in Cheddar Cheese and Hot and Spicy flavors. Yum!

Pringles are perfect for parties.  They’re only about $1.50 per can, and they come in so many flavors that everyone loves (Sour Cream & Onion, Ranch, Cheddar Cheese, etc.)  We usually buy a few different varieties of Pringles to stock up the pantry, but in the last couple of months, I’ve introduced myself to a couple of new favorites that I just can’t get enough of!  One of those is the Zesty Salsa Tortilla Pringles!

Zesty Salsa Pringles

This is SERIOUSLY my new favorite chip.  I can only find this particular flavor at Walmart, and even when I shop there, they are sometimes out or have just a few cans on hand. (A lot of other people must love them too, I guess.) Anyway, last trip I purchased 6 cans in this variety!  (That should last a few days!)

I also want to recommend the Cheeseburger flavor.  This is another flavor I have a hard time finding, but wow—-they are awesome!  (And yes, they do taste like cheeseburger!)

Cheez-It Grooves Snack

The Cheez-It Grooves were also a HUGE hit last weekend!  I purchased the Original Cheddar. (They’re also available in Zesty Cheddar Ranch and Sharp White Cheddar.)

This is the first time we’ve ever tried them, and everyone enjoyed!  Incidentally my mother-in-law said this was the best kind of Cheez-It she’d ever had, and I must say that I agree!

Cheez-It Grooves

Now you may recall that I mentioned  a dip earlier.  One of my favorite dips to eat and serve is spinach dip!  It goes great with vegetables, and it also goes wonderfully with a number of crackers and chips, including Cheez-Its and Pringles.  And luckily for me, it’s also husband approved!  (I hate making stuff just for me.)

These snacks really helped to make game day tasty?  Which varieties of Pringles and Cheez-Its would you most likely serve at your football party?

I love spinach dip, but I have never tried it with water chestnuts, that new to me. It does sound good, though.
