We may be falling in fun fall festivities, but I still have to stay on task when it comes to keeping my family fed.  After the first couple of months of school, those same old breakfasts and snacks start to get old, and finding new food choices our boy loves can be a challenge.  Luckily Kellogg’s is here to save the day.

With so many great products like Pop Tarts, Nutri-Grain bars, Eggo waffles, Rice Krispies Treats, Kellogg’s has so much to offer for breakfast and snack time.  And of course, Kellogg’s also offers an amazing assortment of cereals, including Fruit Loops, Frosted Flakes, Frosted Mini Wheats, Rice Krispies, Corn Pops, Apple Jacks, and Krave.

Kelloggs Cereals

I recently stocked up on some breakfast and snack products, including Kellogg’s Apple Jacks and Kellogg’s Froot Loops.  Not only are these cereals great for a quick-fix breakfast, but they are wonderful for snacking, no matter what time of day it is!

Candy Apple Slices

I recently used the cereals to make some delicious candy apple bites.  This is, of course, is an “easier to eat” version of those large gourmet candy dipped apples you predominantly see during the fall and holiday season.

The bite-sized version is great, because you can eat them on the go, and even pack them for school snacks and lunches.

And aside from convenient snacking, these also make for cute and delicious treat to serve at fall parties!

Apple Ingredients

The recipe is made with just a few simple ingredients: Apples, the cereals, and almond bark or any other candy coating of your choice.

Candy Apple Bites

Candy Apple Bites

Ingredients:

1 Apple (any kind)

4 blocks of almond bark (or other candy coating of your choice)

1/2 cup Kellogg's Fruit Loops*

1/2 cup Kellogg's Apple Jacks*

*Or use one cup of a single type of cereal. This would also work great with other Kellogg's cereals

Directions:

Chop your apple into slices, as shown, or chop in to even smaller pieces for "fun size" apple bites.

Crush cereal and place in a small bowl, just big enough to dip your slices in.

Place almond bark in a small bowl, and microwave. It should take 1 to 1.5 minutes. Stop cooking every 15 to 30 seconds to stir, in order to prevent scorching. Heat through until almond bark is melted.

Dip apple slices in melted almond bark or chocolate. You may dip the entire apple slices or dip just half the slice, keeping the other half plain.

Then dip apple slice in cereal crumbs and place on wax paper. After just a minute or two, the almond bark will harden, allowing you to place the Candy Apple Bites in a sandwich bag or container, for a delicous, portable on-the-go snack!
