Do you shop online?  Surveys and studies show that more and more people are turning to the world wide web to purchase gifts and a whole host of personal items.  My husband and I are definitely two of these people.  Don’t get me wrong; I enjoy walking down the aisles of Walmart and check out the latest things they have to offer, from seasonal decor and clothing to beauty supplies.  But I also love the convenience of online shopping, and I love the time and money that it saves me!  Today we are going to talk about how buying your Pennzoil oil online for a DIY oil can help you save money, plus I will share 5 things you should be buying online if you want to save money.

We all know that DIY projects are a great way to save money, and this includes DIY oil changes.  A regular oil change helps to ensure optimal vehicle performance, extended engine life, and better gas mileage.  You should check your oil regularly, and plan to perform an oil change every 3 months or every 3000 miles.  By doing the oil change yourself, you can see exactly how much oil is going in your car.  This will allow you to use just as much oil as you need and prevent you from overpaying for oil that is not used.  And you can save money on your oil by purchasing your Pennzoil Motor online at Walmart.com.

I recently ordered Pennzoil Platinum Full Synthetic Motor Oil at Walmart.com.  It is designed for complete engine protection with PurePlus® Technology to keep pistons up to 30% cleaner than required by the toughest industry standard.

Walmart has recently made improvements to their online ordering experience, giving you the option of delivery, in-store pickup, or curbside pickup. In this case, I chose the in-store pick up option.  By purchasing the oil in this manner, the item gets pulled for me so that I don’t have to go to the automotive section and look for it, and by selecting the in-store pickup option, I don’t have to pay a shipping fee.

When you order items with in-store pickup, many orders will be ready within a day or two. You can opt-in to receive a text and/or email when your order is ready, and you just have to show your order receipt and a valid ID to pick up your items.  It’s very quick and easy!  For your convenience, you can even list an alternate person to pick up your order.

When you receive email notification that your order is ready, it will also show you a picture of your store with the pickup area clearly labeled.  At our location, the pickup area is at the back of the store in the same location where layaway is done.

Online Offer! Right now when you purchase any 2 qualifying Pennzoil Motor oil products (online or in-store) upload your receipt you will receive $10 Ticketmaster Ticket Cash.  You will also be entered into a sweepstakes to win tickets to a Guns N’ Roses concert as part of their “Not In This Lifetime” tour!

Shopping online offers you a lot of opportunities to save money and find greater selections.  Here are 5 things YOU SHOULD be buying online.

Automotive and DIY Supplies – When you do much of your own automotive and home repairs and maintenance, you not only have a chance to save money on labor costs, you have a chance to save money on parts. Unless we are doing a spur of the moment project or repair job, we almost always go to an online site like TDot Performance  to look for parts and supplies. For automotive parts, especially, we are able to find better deals. Anytime you are buying parts from a local mechanic or shop, that company has to purchase the part from a supplier, and most of the time, they are going to charge you extra for that part (more than they paid for it), but when you shop online, you can cut out the middle man, and you can often find wholesale suppliers and distributors for ordering your own parts.

Clothing – A lot of people don’t like to shop online for clothes, because they like to be able to see, feel, and try on the items, but I find this isn’t always necessary, and in those cases, shopping online for clothes is the way to go!  For myself, I shop mostly for tops.  I’m always finding cute things online that are just my style, and with size guides often available, it’s easy for me to find the size that works for me.  We also shop for about 90 percent of our teen son’s clothes online.  We already know his size, and he only wears a few styles of clothes; plus he’s not a huge fan of shopping, so buying his stuff online is a huge convenience for me.  It also saves me a lot of money, because I only place clothing orders for him on days when they are running a sale, or I have coupon, and I always try to order enough items so that shipping will be free.

Pet Supplies – I found that I can save a lot of money buying pet supplies online.  I always find great deals on cat trees and pet furniture.  I also buy flea medications and puppy pads online, and I’ve considered buying cat litter online as well, simply for the convenience of it being delivered right to your door.

Cell Phone Accessories and Electronics – If I bought nothing else online, I’d buy electronics and accessories.  It is a great way to purchase new and used cell phones, and anytime we buy a cell phone, I always go online to order cases and screen protectors. For these cell phone accessories, I always find a greater selection and lower prices. I also buy camera lenses and supplies online and any other accessories we need for computers and electronic devices in our home.

Furniture and Housewares – The internet is a great resource for home decor inspiration and purchases.  We just ordered furniture and decor for our baby nursery, and everything was purchased online.  By shopping online, we are able to do a lot of price comparisons before shopping, and there’s also a bigger and better selection.  For example, when we shopped for nursery furniture, most stores had 2 or 3 floor models for cribs, changing tables, and chests.  At a lot of retailers, you may not even find an entire matching set of nursery furniture, but if you visit those same retailers online, you will way more products, and I find that shipping is often free on these big items.
