How I Met Your Mother
Craig Thomas and Carter Bays are the creators behind the CBS hit show, How I Met Your Mother. Starring Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris, and Alyson Hannigan, the rom-com is about the Ted and Robin’s complicated relationship, Barney’s commitment issues, and Marshall and Lily’s relationship goals. Each episode is narrated by an older Ted, talking to his children in the future, how he met their mother. It’s a sitcom but one that is heavily marketed as a romantic tv show.
Descendants of the Sun
Descendants of the Sun is a popular K-drama that came out in 2016. It stars Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo. The show is about the blossoming relationship of an emergency doctor and a special forces captain. Given their opposing views on life (one saves lives while the other takes lives), there is nothing much to build a relationship on. But their attraction to one another is so palpable, it is hard to ignore. When they thought they were over, fate had another plan and their paths cross again in a war-torn country.

Brooke Elliott stars as Jane in Drop Dead Diva. Jane, a lawyer by profession gets inhabited by the soul of an aspiring not-so-smart model, Deb Dobkins. Deb learns to live a new life as Jane until she meets Grayson, the boyfriend she left behind and Jane’s lawyer colleague. She badly wants to tell Grayson everything but her best friend Stacey and guardian angels always keep her in check.
The Mindy Project
Mindy Kaling starred in the rom-com she created in 2012 called The Mindy Project. The show aired on Hulu and ran for 6 seasons. Mindy was inspired by her mom’s profession, who is an OB/GYN. Dr. Mindy Lahiri is an OB/GYN. With her other doctor friends, including her frenemy and love interest, Dr. Danny Castellano, she navigates her professional and personal life. The show also starred Chris Messina, Adam Pally, and Ed Weeks.
Grey’s Anatomy
Who did not fall in love with Dr. McDreamy and Dr. McSteamy? Grey’s Anatomy is everyone’s favorite medical romance series. It was renewed for a 15th season in 2018, and is currently streaming on Netflix, Hulu and most other streaming services. Top billed by Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey. Dr. Meredith Grey has chemistry with Dr. Derek Shepherd but he is married. Even after Derek tried to work it out with his wife, it could not pan out. Derek and Meredith were able to pursue their relationship but not without complications.
