My Effortless Meal with Walmart and Coca-Cola

Disclosure: This post was written by me in partnership with Walmart and Coca-Cola. The opinions are my own.

Walmart Effortless Meals on Table

There’s almost nothing I love more than sitting down for a great meal!  I generally think there’s nothing better than a home cooked meal (especially when someone else has cooked!), but sometimes work and school schedules make it difficult to bring something homemade to the table.  The folks at Walmart and Coca-Cola know all about this, and that’s why they have teamed up this fall to bring us Effortless Meals. Breakfast Savings at Publix

Breakfast Savings at Publix

Today we continue with the topic of back to school savings and back to school food with Cheerios and Publix.  Publix is making breakfast more affordable with their printable coupons, and right now they have a a featured coupon on Cheerios and Florida Orange Juice.

Cheerios are available in a range of flavors the whole family loves, from the original Cheerios in the yellow box, to Honey Nut Cheerios, to fun flavors like Dulce de Leche and Fruity, and new Cheerios Protein, available in two irresistible flavors: Cinnamon Almond and Oats & Honey. All Cheerios are made with whole grain first ingredient, and do not have high fructose corn syrup.

And for the perfect Back to School breakfast combination, pair Cheerios with 100% Florida Orange Juice — an excellent source of vitamin C, providing at least 100% of the Daily Value. A delicious 8-ounce glass of 100% Florida orange juice is also a good source of potassium and other vitamins like folate and thiamin. And as a complement to whole fruit, drinking an 8-ounce glass of 100% Florida orange juice is an easy and refreshing way to add more fruit servings to your mornings.

  • Save $2 when you buy any 1 Cheerios 10.9oz or larger AND any 1 100% Florida Orange Juice 59oz or larger” (this sale will include both flavors of Cheerios Protein)

Saving-with-Walgreens-Paperless-Coupons

Coupons are a great way to save money on groceries and essentials for the family, but a lot of people don’t like going through all the trouble involved:  find the coupon, clip the coupon, actually remember to bring the coupon(s) to the store, and then actually remember to get everything you’ve got a coupon for. Phew!  But now  Walgreens is making the couponing experience much easier and stress-free with their new Paperless Coupons.

Today I’m going to show you how you can find and use Walgreens Paperless Coupons, and I’ll show you some of the things I saved money on by using these coupons.  And finally I will show you what I did (or would like to do) with money we save by using these coupons. [Read more…]

We are definitely home bodies.  My husband would rather stay home on the weekends that go out any day, and I generally feel the same way.  A trip to Walmart is like an adventure for me!  But I’m even happier just staying home when I’ve got great food (and especially desserts) to eat!

Although I enjoy a trip to the Ice Cream Parlor or Cupcake Shop just as much as the next girl (okay….honestly I probably enjoy it MORE than most children..) I have to say there is nothing like homemade ice cream to make your summer days fun, cool, and sweet!

To a lot of people, homemade ice cream means sitting around, turning a crank, listening to a much of noise, and generally a lot of trouble, not to mention the cost of the ice cream freezer (if you don’t already have one) which can be $50 and even $100.  BUT today I’m showing you how to enjoy a little homemade ice cream treat without all that hassle!

No-Churn Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream

I searched the web until I found a super easy No-Churn Vanilla Ice Cream, and then I doctored it up with a little chocolate and cookie dough, to create a decadent No-Churn Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream! [Read more…]

Shopping Your Way: Become.com

When I shop for anything, my top priority is to get a good deal and find a good value for my money.  Become.com is a price comparison site that lets you search for the best deals on the items you want.  And you can shop for anything from computers and electronics to home decor and health and beauty products.

So for example, if you wanted to find a square tablecloths 54 x 54 for this weekend’s Memorial Day Barbecue, you will find a vast selection pulled from a variety of retailers. And on this particular search you’d see something to fit any style and budget, including selections from Saks.com to Overstock.com.

This is also a great way to shop for your home improvement items.  Upon moving in to our home, a lot of home improvement work was done, including lighting and electrician work, and we also just replaced the plugs in our bathrooms. Upon searching for supplies like the siemens energy g4040b1200 200a 40/40 main and the 20 amp duplex outlet, I found results from Lowe’s, Grainger, Overstock, and Amazon, and I found some great deals.

And Become.com also has a product research engine where you can look for advice on the products before you buy.  This includes buying guides as well as product reviews. Go over and see what kind of deals you can find!

Great Savings with Campus Book Rentals

Recently my husband started taking college classes again, and as we went about purchasing the textbooks, I was reminded of just how expensive some of the books can be.  I was excited the other day when I learned about Campus Book Rentals.

This site allows you to save money on textbooks by renting them as opposed to buying them. Previously I had heard of renting ebooks, but this is the first site I’ve learned about which actually lets you rent a physical copy of the book you need and then ship it back when your class is over.
