15 Holiday Gifts for Coffee Drinkers

15 Gifts for Coffee Drinkers

Are you done with your holiday shopping?  I just love holiday gift giving, and I love it even better when you can give a gift that you KNOW someone will love.

Do you ever find yourself just buying gifts that require no thought at all?  Things like gift cards or general audience gifts that could be for anyone (or the “token gift” as I like to call it).  If so, then you should really reconsider your gift giving.  Whether you’re spending $5 or $50, it is the THOUGHT that counts.

Before buying another gift card or scented candle, think about what your gift recipient really loves.  What are their hobbies? What are they passionate about?  And if you don’t know the answers to these questions, then find the answer by asking another family member or friend, or even by checking out the person’s Facebook or other social media profiles. Mens Essentials Stocking

Christmas is just around the corner!  Have you done all your holiday shopping yet?  Our son is 15, and believe it or not, we’ve not only bought almost all of his presents, but we’ve actually already given him most of his gifts.  I think it started back in October; our Etsy shop had a huge order, and we decided to splurge on a few things.

In that whole process, we decided to go ahead and buy him a computer desk that he’s been begging us for.  Then his computer chair needed replacing….next we took advantage of some Black Friday clothing sales and decided to let him go ahead and have those items so that he could wear them to school, and I guess you could say that it then spiraled out of control with a video game here and a video game there, etc.

But we’re still going to get him one or two “fun gifts” and some essentials so that he will have something to open for Christmas! [Read more…]

Back to School Gifts with Sadie Robertson Live Original + A Positive Note from Me

Sadie Robertson Live Original

Every day I’m troubled by a lot of the things I see and hear on movies, television, music, and other media.  The decline in faith and family values, and the lack of positive messages and role models often leads me wondering and worried about where we’re headed.

We try to do our part to lead positive lives and encourage the young people in our family to do the same.  One thing I  especially wish for the young ladies in our family is that they maintain self respect and a positive image.  I want for them to be proud of who they are and not define themselves based on what others think, or feel they have to change to fit someone else’s ideal.

I, for one, wish I could have figured that out a long time ago! I am in my 30s and I still occasionally struggle with self esteem issues.  I’ve always had severe anxiety, and because of that, I really missed out on a lot of opportunities.  As a student, my grades were nearly perfect, and yet I never really felt completely confident in a classroom.  My anxieties also left me very distrusting of a lot of people, and as a result I found it very hard to open up and get to know most people.

Whether you’re a student in high school or college, you’re out in the work force, or if you’re a stay-at-home mom, maintaining a positive attitude is essential.  You can be smart, talented, and attractive, but if you don’t have self-confidence and aren’t able to be comfortable just being yourself, then you are lost! None of that other stuff matters. [Read more…]

Why I Love Gold Toe Ultra Soft, Oh. So. Soft. Socks

Tracking PixelThis is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Gold Toe.

Gold Toe Socks

When I’m wearing the right outfit, I love a pair of sandals just as much as the next lady, but most days, I’m a sock girl!  Basically if you were ever to stop by my house unannounced, you can pretty much bet that you will find me in my socks!  I just can’t walk around barefooted, and I’ve really never been able go sock-less.  Even when I was a kid I couldn’t stand to go swimming or do any outdoor activity without something on my feet. DIY Orange Sugar Scrubs and Love2Love Frangrances

This Sunday is Mother’s Day, a day to celebrate, honor, and remember our mom, grandmother, and other special women in our life.  My mom is a wonderful person.  Here’s a recent picture of the two of us:

Jerri and Mom

She’s always there for us and is willing to help her children and grandchildren any way she can.  She constantly sacrifices her time, money (and occasionally her own sanity) and never asks for anything in return.  This is just one reason that I always like to get her something special for Mother’s Day.

When I go shopping for her gift, I run in to 2 problems: First of all, I’m shopping for someone who seems to have everything already.  Secondly, I’m working with a limited budget.  But somehow I always seem to work it out.  Today I’ve got a couple of gift ideas for Mother’s Day that are luxurious AND affordable! 10 Handmade Mother’s Day Gifts

Are you ready for Mother’s Day?  This year I have a set of really cute bird plates for my mom.  But in the past I’ve given her some of my own handmade jewelry from my shop:

Simply Sweet Creations Jewelry

As an Etsy shop owner, I appreciate and am thrilled about every sale that I get, especially right now, which is a slow time for me.  I also know how hard it can be to get your name out their and get advertiser (especially when you’re on a budget).  For this reason, I like to give other Etsy shops and handmade businesses exposure on my blog though low-cost paid advertisements and free features whenever possible.

Today I’ve put together a nice Mother’s Day gift guide featuring some lovely things that I’d love to have and items I think any mom would love!
