10-tips-for-a-bright-and-youthful-eye-appearance

Throughout my life, the number one thing people have always complimented me on has been my eyes.  Like most people, I always welcome a nice compliment and cannot help but smile about this.  As implied in my blog title, I’m a simple kind of girl, and I’m definitely not a “glam girl.”  However, as a woman, I believe it is important that we do what we need to do feel good about ourselves and feel confident and comfortable in our own skin. I, for one, feel dramatically happier and more positive about myself when I’ve taken 10 minutes to get dressed and do makeup versus spending the day in my pajamas.  And it is amazing how this extra bit of effort improves my confidence and my overall attitude as I go through my day.  And as I go through my day with a positive attitude, I am able to affect others in a positive way.

Achieving that bright and youthful appearance isn’t always that simple.  In fact, for many, it is a daily struggle, but it doesn’t have to be.  Today I’m going to share 10 tips for a bright and youthful eye appearance. [Read more…]

Tips to Help you Sleep Better to Feel Better

When Daylight Savings Time begins, everyone seems to go in to a frenzy over that hour of lost sleep.  But what about every other night of the year?

I, for one, used to be the kind of person who could do just about anything with very little sleep, but over the past year or two, I have found that I really need sleep in order to function.   This month the folks at Walgreens are emphasizing the importance of sleep, because let’s face it, the Better You Sleep, The Better You Feel!

As part of my new year’s resolutions, I’ve been adopting new habits to help myself get a good night’s sleep,  and today I’ll be sharing some steps that you can take to develop an effective night time routine so that you can get in bed earlier, fall asleep easier, and wake up feeling well rested. Spring is almost here, and you know what that means!  It’s almost time to get out and work in the yard!  At our house, my hubby does the mowing and the majority of the yard work, but I do assist him with a lot of projects, particularly things like working in the flower beds and any project that involves building, painting, and making our yard and home prettier.

Last year we did a number of simple budget-friendly projects to improve the look of our yard and front porch area, and this year we will be continuing our work.  We have some general maintenance to do this spring, and then I hope we can accomplish a few new goals this year as well!  Today I’m going to share 10 outdoor projects for your spring to do list! Getting Your Small Business Organized

As many of you know, beyond my blog, I also have at etsy shop where I sell hand stamped jewelry and ornaments.  (You can take a look at my creations here.)  Several weeks ago my business received a huge custom order from a school.  The order was a huge opportunity for me, but I was rushed to get it out.  Luckily I had my trusty husband here to help me expedite the process!  We ordered some new tools and supplies to greatly improve our manufacturing process, our products, and our business, and now we are currently renovating a room on our property, which is going to serve as a new jewelry and business studio!

So right now I am extremely excited at the thoughts of getting all my jewelry supplies, photo props, and other items moved in to their new home!  (As soon as the new room is complete, I’ll have a full makeover post for you!)  Till then, I’m trying to get all my stuff ORGANIZED so that it will be ready to go, as soon as we’ve put the finishing touches on the room.  One new tool I’ve invested in is the DYMO LabelWriter® 450 Value Bundle Pack.
