Candy Filled Cookie Cups

Candy Filled Cookie Cups

I love break & bake cookie dough!  As if, ready made cookie dough wasn’t enough of a short cut, the break and bake kind take out all the cutting and measuring-guess work.  Today we’re getting a little creative with our cookie dough, by placing an extra special treat inside!

These Candy Filled Cookie Cups can be made with any kind of cookie dough you choose.  Here we obviously chose chocolate chip, but if you like peanut butter, sugar, or even snicker doodles, they would be perfect as well.  And what’s the filling, you ask?  Mini candy bars, of course!  Just think of all the possible flavor combinations!

Serve these as a fun after school treat, or get the kids involved, by letting them pick their favorite “recipe combinations.”  They will have a blast!

1 Package Break and Bake Cookie Dough - 24 count (any kind)

12 mini candy bars (any kind)

cooking spray

Preheat oven according to cookie dough package direction. Spray a 12 cup muffin tin with cooking spray. Take 12 pieces of cookie dough and gently press one piece into each muffin cup.

Unwrap 12 mini candy bars. (I used Baby Ruths in the cookie cups pictured here, but you can use anything from Rolos, to Reese Cups, to Snickers.) Place one mini candy bar on top of each piece of cookie dough. (If you're using snack size bars, you may need to cut them in half for a proper fit.

Next place your remaining cookie dough balls on top of the candy, pressing down gently on the sides to be sure a cup is created and the candy bar doesn't leak out the side.

Bake as directed on the cookie dough packaging. Let cool for a a few minutes. Remove from and serve.
