Coca-Cola Pulled Pork Nacho Basket

Coca-Cola is my go-to drink on any day, but when game day rolls around, it is an absolute must for the family and any guests who may come around.  Not only is it the perfect drink to serve, but it’s also a key ingredient in a lot of the appetizers and desserts that I make.  Today I’m going to share a delicious recipe for Coca-Cola Pulled Pork, and I’m going to show you how I use the pulled pork to make the most delicious Pulled Pork Nachos!

AND…as I much as I love game day, I have to admit, we wouldn’t have game day if there weren’t actual games to watch, so today I’ve also got a tutorial on how to create a multi-viewing experience at your football party!

Coca-Cola 35 Pack

This fall Coca-Cola and Sam’s Club have gotten together to make tailgating and homegating easy and affordable with their 28 packs of Coca-Cola and Diet Coke Products.  Other stores also have 32 and 35 packs.  Check your local store for current availability of these products.

Coca-Cola at Sams Club

We shopped at Sam’s Club the other day and found one of the 35 packs of Coca-Cola in the soda aisle.  And it was a great deal at $8.76 a box!

Since Sam’s Club is a good distance from us (and because I always want to buy everything I see when we shop there), we only visit the Club about once a month.  But in between visits, we can always browse online.  They even allow you to order online and pick up your order in store! So convenient!

Pulled Pork Nachos

This 35 pack of Coca-Cola was just what we need for game day.  Not only did we have plenty to drink, but we used the Coca-Cola to make a whole bunch of pulled pork.  This pork is the BEST. Every time we make it, we always make enough to eat sandwiches for a few days, and this time I also used the it to make Coca-Cola Pulled Pork Nachos!

And here’s some photos of the process.   It just takes a few minute to make our sauce and use it to marinade our pork, before wrapping it up to cook:

Now it’s tutorial time!  And today I’m talking about how to make your homegating party special by creating multi-game viewing areas.  Why do this, you ask?  Here’s a few reasons:

  • You can avoid any arguments over what game(s) will be watched.
  • You can watch multiple games without flipping the channel, which means you won’t miss any of your favorite team.
  • And it will actually allow you to invite MORE people in to your home!

Creating Multi-Game Viewing Areas

Part of creating a multi-game viewing experience depends on having multiple tvs and mobile devices.  If you don’t have extra ones, ask one of your guests to bring one.

First you should set up two (or more) televisions in your “main watching area.”  (At our house this is the living room.)  Generally you choose one game to watch but have the other television on an alternate game and keep it muted.  By doing this, everyone can keep an eye on that “other important game” that’s going on during the game your prefer to watch, and you can avoid flipping back and forth.

A second thing you can do is create a “second watching area.”  Any room works for this.  Our son’s room is great for this because it has a futon.  And then if you have a game room or kitchen with a tv, these are also great areas.  If you have wireless boxes like we do, you can even set up a viewing area outdoors!  This is a perfect idea if you’re grilling out for game day but don’t want to miss any of the action.

Watching the Game with Coca-Cola

Next it’s a good idea to have laptops, tablets, or other media devices on hand.  Our television service actually streams practically everything that’s available on our tv, so we can get on our tablet or laptop and watch any game that’s on.  And this would be another very easy way for you or one of your guests to keep an eye on another big game, while watching an even bigger game on television.

You can also pull up your favorite sports news website or score tracking site on your favorite device and have it set up in one of your viewing areas or even on your buffet table so that people can quickly stay up to date on all the games going on.

By using these tips, you’ll be able to create a fun game day experience for your guests, and if you choose to use more than area of your home, this means you’ll have more space to invite more friends and family to share a Coke and share some game day fun!
