A Few Good Tools for a Clean House

Cleaning infographic

The hustle and bustle of Christmas is over and the decorations are stored in the attic or garage…hopefully!  Now is the perfect time to get your house in order!  With winter weather forcing us to spend more time indoors, it’s more important than ever that our home stays as clean as possible and that we maintain a safe and clean environment.  Having the proper tools on hand is just one simple step that you can take toward having a cleaner home this winter.

Today we are going to consider a few options.

Gain Large Pop up Hamper

First, we have the Gain Large Pup-up Hamper.  Anytime I post on laundry tips, I always stress the need for everyone to have his or her own hamper!  This particular one has a 3-load capacity.  It also zips at the top and has carrying strap, making it perfect or households, or for dorms and apartments where you may have to use a laundromat.

Window Squeegee

Then there’s the Black & Decker Combo Squeegee Washer.  I have to admit, I hardly ever clean windows, and mine could really use a good cleaning, especially my glass doors!  This great little tool has a rubber squeegee on one side and a soft cleaning pad on the other, making it perfect for all types of windows and cleaning jobs big and small! The B&D Combo Squeegee Washer requires low-pressure water from the mains, so why not combine it with showerheads for low pressure

Mr Clean Dust & Mop

Next we have the Mr. Clean Dust & Mop.  This is a very good 2-in-1 product.  It features microfibers pads, and it pivots that you can use the side with the blue “fingers” to pick up dust around your home, and then you can come back and do wet mopping with the grey pad.  This is great for vinyl, tile, wood, and other surfaces!

Deck and Patio Scrubber

The next products takes us outdoors.  It is the Black & Decker Deck & Patio Scrubber.  I have a large shop broom from Black & Decker that we use in our garage.  It is very heavy duty, and this is a similar product.  It features a pivoting head, and apart from cleaning your deck or porch, it is also a good tool for clean wood and vinyl siding on your house. We have aluminum siding on our house, so this spring I’m going to try the product and see if it does just as well there!

Clorox Tile Brush

Now we move to the bathroom!  Like a lot of people, this is my least favorite area to clean.  My husband actually just recaulked the grout lines in our bathtub, so I’m hoping to keep that looking nice.  From Clorox, this 2-in-1 Tile & Grout Brush has a side with soft white bristles for general cleaning and a side with stiff blue bristles for cleaning in between tiles and other tight spaces, and it features antimicrobrial protected brush fibers, so it’s safe to clean with the brush every time, and the brush will last a long time without having to be replaced.

Clorox Ready Mop

And finally we have Clorox Ready Mop.  This mop works great on a variety of floor surfaces from laminates to tile.  It features a microfiber cleaning cloth, which is removable and machine washable.  To use it, just take the bottle off the side and pour in any cleaner you like using.  This could be your favorite name brand floor cleaner, an all purpose cleaner, something organic, and even an organic cleaner you mixed up at home!  Then reattach.  Spray the cleaner and then steam the dirt and germs away.  The steam feature is key here.  It really helps on your tile and hard to clean surfaces, and if you ever have anything sticky or hard stuck to your floors, it will help to loosen and remove those items!
