Cooking is one of my favorite household chores. If you’ve checked out my recipe section, you know that I love making casseroles and baked side. Not only is it delicious comfort food, but it’s also generally easy to make. However, these dishes are the hardest to clean, and washing dishes just happens to be my least favorite chore! After dinner, I especially find it hard to break myself away to do dishes and clean up the kitchen, but it must be done! Today I’m going to share my latest dish washing tool that’s taking my kitchen sink by storm. Plus, I have a delicious recipe for Buffalo Chicken Macaroni & Cheese to share with, and I have some ideas to help keep your kitchen clean and clutter-free.
My newest kitchen cleaning tool are these Scotch-Brite scrubbing dish cloths. The cloths come in packs of two, and I purchased mine for $4.89. They are also available in three colors: tan, coral, and navy.
Sctoch-Brite has been a trusted name for years, and the dish cloths are their newest products. These cloths are strong and sturdy but also safe to use on all cookware. And unlike other dish cloths, the Scotch-Brite dish cloths features two sides. One side is a high quality fiber and the other has scrubbing dots. The dots bring you powerful scrubbing action and help you remove the worst stuck on food messes!
Over the weekend, I made a batch of Buffalo Chicken Macaroni & Cheese. It’s a delicious recipe, but it leaves you with a lot of dishes to clean!
And the worst dish to clean is the baking dish. (Isn’t it always?)
I was amazed at just how quick, I was able clean this dish, using the Scotch-Brite cloths. (The scrubbing dots really do save the day!)
And here’s the same dish a few minutes later. As you can see, it is sparkling clean!
You can find Scotch-Brite scrubbing dish cloths at Walmart in the cleaning aisle. There is also a $1 off coupon that you can find in store on the product itself. This coupon is redeemable at check out.
Now that I’ve told you an effective way to do the dishes after dinner, let’s talk about how to make the actual dinner!
If you’re family loves macaroni & cheese and buffalo chicken or anything spicy, they are bound to love this recipe!
Ingredients:
1 1/2-2 cups macaroni noodles
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons butter
16 oz Great Value Melt n' Dip Cheese
3 cups of chicken, cooked & shredded (about a pound)
1/2 - 3/4 cup buffalo sauce
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese.
ranch dipping (optional)
Directions:
Boil about a pound of chicken. Once cooked through, remove from heat and shred chicken. Set aside.
Cook macaroni noodles according to package instructions. Then drain water.
Meanwhile, buffalo cheese sauce in a separate pot: Whisk together milk and flour on low to medium heat. Then add butter and stir constantly until butter is melted. Then cut your cheese in to cubes and add them to the pot, continuously stirring until cheese is completely melted. Next stir in buffalo sauce.
Remove cheese sauce from heat and stir in your chicken and pasta. (I like to add a little bit at a time, just to make sure it stays nice and cheesy and doesn't get too many pasta noodles added in.)
Spray a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray. Then pour macaroni and cheese mixture into baking dish. Sprinkle top with cheddar cheese. Then add a little buffalo sauce on top. (Optional)
Bake for about 15 minutes or until cheese on top is melting and sauce is bubbly.
To spice things up or coll them down, serve this topped with additional buffalo sauce or ranch dressing (Optional)

Finally I have just a few ideas and tips to help you keep you kitchen clean and clutter free.
- Try to wash your dishes immediately after eating, or at least rinse them out.
- Clean as you cook: If you have dishes in your dish washer, put them away or get them out for use as you cook. Also, wash as many dishes as you can or load your dishwasher while you cook.
- Wash dishes every day to keep them from stacking up.
- If you find yourself throwing away leftovers quite often, start making a meal plan that includes your leftovers or cook less so that you don’t have as much to clean up and no waste.
- Keep counter spaces looking neat and tidy by minimizing: Counter space should be for your most important appliances that you use almost daily, for canisters or utensil jars, and anything that gives you joy and is pleasing to the eye.
- Clear and wipe counters down every night. (It’s so easy to sleep when you know the mess is cleaned up, and it’s great to wake up to a clean kitchen.)
- Cook make ahead breakfasts while you’re cooking your dinner. Not only will you save time for yourself in the morning, but you’ll get two things done at once and you will only have to clean once.
