As many of you know, I’m getting ready to welcome a new little one into the world.  HE is scheduled to arrive on November 17, and I’m currently in the process of getting the nursery decorated.  Today I’m sharing the nursery furniture that has been purchased.

Chest and Changing Table

First we have the South Shore Fundy Tide Changing Table and 4-Drawer Chest.  I purchased these on Amazon.  The set is available on other websites, but Amazon had the best pricing.

This is a great looking set. The color is espresso, but I think there are other colors available. It was very important to me to find a changing table with drawers, because I like to have things stored so that they are hidden.  The South Shore Fundy Tide Changing table has two drawers, plus a shelf for storing items.  And another great thing about this item is that we can still use it in the baby’s room long after a changing table is no longer needed.  I figure I could use for toys, extra clothes, art supplies, or anything else in his room, and then I just have to remove the changing pad, and there is a place to display items.

Both pieces are of great quality for the money we paid.  If you’re on a budget like us, this is definitely a good set, and it can be used by the baby in their toddler and school age years, which is a plus for me!  The assembly process was pretty easy, and the instructions were easy to follow.

The baskets and changing pad were not included with this.  I already had a couple of baskets on hand.  They are Theshold baskets from Target.  And the changing pad I purchased is the Summer Infant Contoured Changing Pad.  It seems to be well made and is a good average side.

Crib
We also got the Delta Children’s Sutton 4-in-1 Convertible Crib.  This is a very nice looking crib.  It was very easy to put together.  I’ve always heard that cribs are the worst thing ever to assemble, so I was amazed at how easy this was.  I wanted to buy a crib that would convert into a daybed and toddler bed, so that we can use the crib past the infant years.  This crib can also be converted into a full size bed; you just have to buy a full size frame to go with it.

We also got the Sealy Premier Posture Dual Sided Infant/Toddler Mattress.  The mattress looks great.  It is a firm 204 coil mattress.  It is dual sided for toddlers and infants.  It is waterproof and hypoallergenic.  And it has a lifetime guarantee.

Sealy Mattress Encasement
To protect the mattress, I got the Sealy SafetyCase Protective Zippered Crib Mattress Encasement.  This encasement goes around the mattress and zips up around it.  It is waterproof and helps to protect baby against allergens, dust mites, and bed bugs.

Sealy Cool Crib Mattress Pad
I also bought a couple of crib mattress pads: the Sealy Cool Comfort Fitted Infant/Toddler Crib Mattress Pad.  These are Moisture Wicking; they have a 100% Waterproof Layer, are Hypoallergenic, and have a Deep Fitted Skirt. They measure 52″ by 28″ and are Machine Washable & Dryer Friendly.  The fabric is a very high quality.  This looks great, and it is very plush and soft.  I’d love to lay on this mattress pad, and I’m sure the baby will love it.

wardrobe

Finally I have the Sauder Homeplus Wardrobe.  The color is Dakota Oak, and it pairs well with espresso and java furniture.

I live in an older house with limited closet space.  Because of this, the closet in the baby’s room is already in use, so we had to get a wardrobe.  This wardrobe is awesome.  It is a great size for child or adult clothes.  The instructions are very easy to follow, and it actually had picture and written instructions, which I find to be very helpful.  The drawer is a good feature, and the inside is a really good size.  It has a bar for hanging clothes, and it is enough space to hang a lot of items.

Additionally you can place items on the floor of the wardrobe (on the inside, above the drawer).  And it also has a shelf, which you can place above the clothes rack or below the clothes rack,  so this gives you some great storage options, well beyond being able to hang clothes.

The website also had an example picture where the wardrobe was used in a laundry room.  It served as a place to hang clean clothes and also store detergent and supplies, which I think is a great idea.

For right now, I’m using this to hang clothes that are too big for the baby.  Right now I have newborn and 0-3 month clothes in his chest of drawers, and I’ll be placing bigger items in the wardrobe.  Once he outgrows the newborn and 0-3 month clothes, I’ll remove those from the chest of drawers, and items from the next size up in the chest.

I’m also using the wardrobe drawer for my extra mattress pad and crib sheets, and I’m still deciding what the shelving will be used for.

I think we have some great finds here, and I’d definitely recommend them to anyone who is designing a nursery on a budget.
