Rather than reviewing the January box, this month I had the opportunity to review their new STARTER BOX!  Check it out!

The Simply Earth Starter Box was designed to give you an idea of what the Essential Oil Recipe Box is like.  Just like the monthly Recipe Box, with their Starter Box you get 4 oils, 6 recipe cards, and other materials to help you make the recipes on the cards.

What sets the Starter Box apart is that it will not change.  The box being offered right now will have the same materials in it next month, and the month after that (whereas the monthly recipe box will always have a different and unique theme).

Just as with the Essential Oil Recipe Box, this Starter Box was very well thought out!  Here is a list of the materials included:

4 oils:

  • Tea Tree
  • Lemon
  • Frankincense
  • Sleepy Blend

Other Materials:

  • 2 Lip Balm Tubes
  • Aloe Vera
  • Spray Bottle
  • 6 recipe cards
  • Stickers for your oils and recipes

My Thoughts:

I really LOVED the starter box. If you’re new to essential oils, this starter box gives you a good assortment of popular oils that are MUST HAVES for anyone who uses essential oils regularly.

The box was also very well thought out.  I’m always happy that their boxes have a mix of fun and practical recipes.  And the starter box definitely stays true to that! They included recipes for both housekeeping and personal care use.  And it includes both basic/easy/beginner recipes (as I like to call them) for a diffuser blend and roll-on, as well has more advanced recipes like lip balm, a hand sanitizer recipe, surface cleaner, and detox bath.

(Side Note: None of the recipes included are ever what I would call difficult or even time consuming. I simply call them “advanced,” because a lot of people aren’t as familiar with these types of applications for essential oils.)

I decided to share the Toxin-free Surface Cleaner, because this is something I’ve been using in my house for the last several months.  The recipe calls for 2 tablespoons of vinegar and 2 tablespoons of water + 7 drops of lemon essential oil and 7 drops of tea tree essential oils.

I love using this to clean my kitchen counter tops, sinks, and bathroom surfaces.  It is also great for spot cleaning on hard floors.

In the past I’ve also used Peppermint in place of the Tea Tree for making surface cleaner. Both work great!

And because I like this so much, I actually make a larger batch. I like to mix 1/2 cup of vinegar with 1/2 cup water.

(Another side note:  You should actually be using the brown/amber spray bottles for this recipe, like the one they included with this box, instead of the pink bottle like I used.  If you are NOT using a brown/amber bottle, you should be sure to store your cleaner in a dark place, in order to better preserve your product.)

And ever sense I received this box, I’ve been using the Sleepy Roll on!  Again, this is so easy! Just add your carrier oil to a bottle and then add your essential oil. It instructs you to roll in on your pulse points.  I always roll it on my wrists and feet.  I’ve also been told that on your neck and behind your ears can be good, so I’ve been trying that as well.

This was definitely an excellent box! If you are new to essential oils or you are curious about the Essential Oil Recipe Box, I definitely recommend that you order the Starter Box!

As of right now, the Essential Oil Recipe Box for January is SOLD OUT, so they will be offering the Starter Box for any new subscribers this month.

I’m also excited to say that if you wish to order the STARTER BOX, you will get the SAME BONUS BOX that is included with the Essential Oil Recipe Box subscription! (See the picture above!)

AND just as with the subscription box, when you order the STARTER BOX using my referral link and coupon code:  SSHOMEFREE you will get a $40 gift card! (It’s like getting your box for free! Fantastic value!)
