Archer and Olive Review

Disclosure: I received samples to facilitate this review. The opinions are my own.

I have always been the creative type. Even as a child I always loved writing and making up stories, journaling, and drawing (although my drawing talent leaves a lot to be desired).  So it should come as no surprise that I love journals, notebooks, and planners. The other day I received some samples from Archer and Olive

They sell awesome, high quality journaling supplies. The covers are nice looking and very thick and durable, making them great for personal use or gift giving.

I received a lined notebooks and a dot grid notebook.  These feature 160 GSM Ultra Thick Paper.  They are perfect for using with markers, fountain pens, and even paint with no ghosting or bleeding through!

With the back to school season in full swing this a great time to try Archer and Olive. Their products are great for planners for homeschool moms and for your favorite student, and they are also perfect for all you writers and artists out there!

Daring Contest Review

Disclosure: I received a product sample to facilitate this review. Affiliate links are contained herein. The opinions are my own.

I recently had the chance to review the Daring Contest.  My stepson recently got married and is also in the army, and I thought the game might be something they could play at home with friends.  (Recently he told his dad that he and his friends were playing Dungeons & Dragons, so I figure they can pick this game right up!)

The game is similar to truth or dare (without the truth part).  It contains 160 dare cards, 40 modifiers an 20 penalty cards. You draw cards which give you different tasks to do for points.  The easiest tasks have the lower amount of points, while the harder tasks give more points.

For example, one card reads, “Take a selfie with the Judge (of the game) and send it to your mom. If she is single, include the Judge’s Number.”

Another card reads, “Show your dominance by snarling at your opponents like a crazed beast.”

The game is best with 4 to 8 players and is for ages 18 and up.  With that in mind, there are some cards that might be inappropriate in certain settings. I’d caution you against getting this game for a church group, workplace group, or any kind of mixed group where someone could potentially get offended or embarrassed.

But if you have a group of guys in a dorm room, a group of army buddies, or even a few couples who don’t embarrass easily and like to have fun, then this could be the game for you.

Alio Reed Diffuser Review

As a homemaker I am always looking for ways to make my home smell cleaner and nicer. This can be quite a challenge at times, because I live in an older house; it simply doesn’t have that nice and new smell. I also have a dog and three cats. And I have a family who does a lot of work and play in the outdoors, which doesn’t always lead to a great smelling house.

For air fresheners we have used just about everything: essential oil diffusers, scented plug-ins, room sprays, fabric sprays…you name it, we have tried it.

Recently I got to try an reed diffuser from Alio.  The scent we tried was Soft Blanket.  It has a nice, clean linen smell to it.  The diffuser is small and cute; it has a very minimalist look to it, and would be best in small spaces.  Currently I’m using it in the bathroom.  It looks great there and puts off just enough smell for this small space.  You can also use whatever number of reeds to desire, depending on how much scent you want.

This is also a great product because it doesn’t involve using liquids of any type. (No water, no oils, no spill!)  It is also a great thing to use if you are concerned about pets or kids.

I recommend this for any small room, and it would also be great for dormitories and small apartment.

Head over to Alio to check out their reed diffusers and other products.

Snack Time with Welch’s Fruit Snacks

I received samples to facilitate this post. The opinions are my own.

Today Thaxton and I are happy to share our thoughts on Welch’s Fruit Snacks!

I am pretty particular about the kinds of foods and snacks my son eats. (I’m definitely a new, first kid mom!) Don’t get me wrong. I love snacks, and I don’t mind him having treats, as long as they don’t have too much sugar. And believe me, our son definitely doesn’t feel deprived! [Read more…]

So far I’ve shown you a summer box and kid’s box, and today’s is even more exciting for me. It is a skincare box!

I absolutely love checking out new skincare products, particularly facial skincare products and especially organic skincare products, so a box with materials to help me make my own organic skincare products is right up my alley!

Let’s go over the items included in this month’s box:

4 Oils:

  • Clove Oil
  • Rosemary Oil
  • Frankincense Oil
  • Clear Skin Oil Blend (with Tea Tree, Sandalwood, Cedarwood, Juniper Berry, and Lemon)

Other Materials

  • Lavender Hydrosol
  • Compressed Mask

Plus, colorful sticker labels and 7 recipe cards!

Let’s talk about what you can make with this month’s box.  First off, there’s a diffuser blend.  Each box always has a recipe for a diffuser blend, and this month the diffuser blend is Feel Good Morning Diffuser (made with Frankincense, Clove, and Rosemary essential oils).

Apart from being a skincare themed box, the recipes in this month’s box are particularly unique, because they are a complete 6 step skincare regimen. When I saw the recipe cards I was so excited about this!

Here’s a quick run down on the 6 recipes:

  • Frankincense Face Scrub
  • Rosemary Facial Steam
  • Skin Renewing Face Mask
  • Hydrosol Facial Toner
  • Moisturizing Face Cream
  • Clear Skin Roll On

According to instructions in the box, it is recommended that you use the products you make in the skincare system once a week, but you can feel free to use the toner or cream daily, and the acne roll on can be used as needed.  You can also consult the Simply Earth website to find out how you can customize these recipe for your particular skin type.

If you love essentials oils, or your thinking about getting started with essential oils, I recommend Simply Earth’s Essential Oil Recipe Box!  Please order today using my referral link and coupon code: SSHOMEFREE you will also get a $40 gift card + the BONUS Box!
