Favorite Recipes 2016

I can’t believe it is February already! No Bake Banana Pudding Pie

Banana Pudding Pie and Slice

I LOVE banana pudding.  When I was growing up, it was one of my favorite sweets!  A few years ago, I ran across a great uncooked banana pudding.  I posted the recipe here, and to this day, it is still one of my site’s most visited posts.  I love banana pudding anytime of year, but I think of it as one of the official desserts of summer, so the other day, I decided to make it, but this time, I decided to do something a little different…a banana pudding pie! Chocolate Pie

Chocolate Pie

I love pie!  I often think of summer as the season for pie, because there are so many that you can serve cold, which is perfect for family picnics, Sunday socials, holiday events, or for a bit of snacking while you’re sitting on the front porch.

Of course, as a dessert fiend, I have many pies that I love to eat, but when pressed, I’d have to say that Chocolate Pie is my ultimate favorite.  Some people also call it Old Fashioned Chocolate Pie or Southern Chocolate Pie…but whatever you call it, it is definitely a classic! It has the perfect mix of dark decadence and sweet yummy goodness.  And the textures of the foamy meringue, chocolate pudding center, and flaky crust make this pie a melt in your mouth, delicious treat. Easy Tailgating Ideas with Red Baron and Edwards Pies

The number one question I hear people ask on Saturdays in the fall is, “What time is the game?”  Almost everyone I know has a team they root for, a team they root against, and few teams they watch just for the fun of it!  Each week we have OUR teams that we watch as well, and good food is a key ingredient to making our football Saturday great!

Last week we were super busy working on various projects, but thanks to Red Baron Pizza and Edwards Pies, I still managed to put together a little spread for the big game. [Read more…]

25 Delicious Must-Make Recipes from 2014

25 Delicious Must-Make Recipes

Happy New Year! (Again!)  As a blogger, it seems to have become quite customary to take the interim period between Christmas and New Year’s Day to look back over the year’s work and then re-share some of the highlights.  So I’ve been looking back at everything over the last few days, and today I have a fun round-up of posts for you: my 25 Delicious Must-Make Recipes from 2014!

I can honestly say that I enjoyed making and EATING all of these, so I hope you will check them out and decide to make few of these for yourself (especially the chocolate chip cookie dough cupcakes….just saying!)

And as always, I welcome your comments on this and any of the recipe posts featured here, especially on my photos.  In 2014, I worked on improving my photo staging and editing, but I was still limited by not having a DSLR camera (not to mention, the lighting was not always ideal!).  However, I’m really proud of the improvements I was able to make throughout the year, and I am super excited because I….I mean, Santa, just got me a DSLR camera for Christmas, so I cannot wait to make things look even better here in 2015!  [Read more…]
